2 May – Int’l Women’s MTB Day

Frocks on Shocks 2026 – Star Struck

May 2 @ 12:00 pm 3:00 pm

Lights, Camera, Pedal!

Celebrate International Womens MTB Day 2026! Join the Dirt Divas at Tutaenui Reservoir Reserve, Marton for this star-struck cross-country relay event just for women and girls (over the age of 10).

Riders will complete as many laps of a non-technical loop trail (15-30 mins) as they can in three hours. Suitable for competent beginners and above (Grade 2 trails).

This is a fun event with prizes for category winners and plenty of spot prizes. E-Bikes are welcome and will have their own category. Costumes are encouraged – there’s even a special trophy for the best dressed.

Bring your inner celeb to life…whether you’re a Hollywood starlet, pop queen, rock legend, or movie icon. Think glam, drama, and full main-character energy.

Ladies, bring a plate! Sweet or savoury, bring something to share.

Trade, swap, sell, giveaway! Bring your pre-loved extra biking gear to Frocks and let it breathe new life. You can trade, give away or sell. But if it’s still there at the end of the day, you must take it home.

Things you need to know.

Event Rules

As always, there must be a few rules to make the event run smoothly and safely!

The race length is three hours.
The race will start at 12noon; at 2:45pm the hooter will sound, and the course will be closed at the village’s exit. All riders on track at 2:45pm will complete the lap they are on, which will be counted.
Electronic timing will be used, and tags will be fixed to number plates with Velcro. Each team is given two number plates and one tag, which must be transferred to the next rider’s number plate. It is the team’s responsibility to make sure the tag is firmly attached and does not come off during a lap. Please return tags and number plates at the end of the race.

Passing etiquette

Please use common sense and courtesy when passing and being passed.
All riders share the same track, so there will be a wide range of speeds and skills. Please be considerate of all riders.
The rider in front has the right of way but must not unnecessarily impede a faster rider.
A passing rider should call clearly when a passing opportunity arises, and it is safe to pass.
When lapped, please move aside for faster riders as soon as possible.
